Summary of CAVALIADA Tour 2021/2022

Share

CAVALIADA Tour has never before delivered such emotions. The 2021/2022 season is officially behind us. We sum up the most important moments of each stage in Warsaw, Poznań, Sopot and the final in Krakow. The show jumping rivalry was very exciting. The series of competitions consisted of demanding classes, counting for the world ranking. They gathered the best athletes not only from Poland, but also international stars from all over Europe.

WARSAW

The entire rivalry began in Warsaw. On November 12, the first competition included in the world ranking ended with the victory of Greek Angelos Touloupis. The Pole Jarosław Skrzyczyński, who took high places in both the Friday class and Sunday's Grand Prix, was equally good at this stage. Zoltan Czékus from Hungary, who turned out to be the winner of the Grand Prix, joined the fight on Sunday. The Greek left Warsaw as the leader, Jarosław Skrzyczyński sitting in second.

Statistics: 12 CSI classes, 4 won by Poles, almost 15 thousand fans in the stands.

POZNAN

Everyone was curious what would happen at the competition in Poznań. This location has its own specificity. In December, all the best from all over Europe want to compete in the halls of the Poznań International Fair. This season was no different. The current European champion Andre Thieme, among others, appeared on the starting list. The competitions included in the CAVALIADA Tour were won by: first the Dutchman Gerben Morsink, and on Sunday, to the great joy of the fans, home rider Maksymilian Wechta with Chepettano.

After these four stages, the leader of the ranking was Hungarian Zoltan Czékus, who was not in the top three at all, but did very well in the difficult Grand Prix in Poznań.

Statistics: 27 CSI classes, 16 won by Poles, two arenas, over 100 exhibitors, almost 16 thousand fans in the stands

SOPOT

A new city and a new hall appeared on the CAVALIADA map - ERGO Arena in Sopot. Perfect conditions for riders and fans who cheered on their favorite players. Both CAVALIADA Tour classes in Sopot were won by Poles – Kamil Grzelczyk with Wibaro on Friday, and on Sunday in the Grand Prix – Jarosław Skrzyczyński. This ambitious athlete put it all on the line, going over the first course and jump-off with extreme precision riding Inturido. The phenomenal pace and the victory by fractions of a second over the following competitors gave him a chance to fight for his seventh-ever victory in the CAVALIADA Tour ranking.

Statistics: 17 CSI classes, 13 won by Poles, over 10 thousand fans in the stands

KRAKOW

Everyone was waiting impatiently for the grand finale in Krakow. The new hosts of the final became the City of Krakow and TAURON Arena.

Before this competition, the leader was the Greek Angelos Touloupis. Second place belonged to Pole Jarosław Skrzyczyński. In the Friday class, victory went to Poland’s Krzysztof Ludwiczak and his own Cros Blue. They triumphed here before, in 2020, winning the Grand Prix of Krakow and the whole Tour.

Despite the weaker performance of the leader and the runner-up, the top ranking remained the same before the Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Grand Prix of Krakow was not only the final of CAVALIADA Tour, but also of the World Cup Central European League, hence the technical requirements of the course and the obstacles were set up high. The route required full concentration and nobody here could be sure of victory. Six riders qualified for the jump-off, and the winner was Jack Ansems from the Netherlands riding Fliere Fluiter, who was already showing his talent in Poznań. He took the third place in the final CAVALIADA Tour ranking. Greek Angelos Touloupis, who was the leader for a long time, had one fence down in the first course. However, his good time allowed him to keep a place on the podium, but not the highest one.

The representative of Poland, Jarosław Skrzyczyński, went phenomenally riding Inturido. He did not beat the Dutchman, but took home the second, which secured his seventh-ever title of the winner of CAVALIADA Tour.

Statistics: 15 CSI classes, 12 won by Poles, over 18 thousand fans in the stands

CAVALIADA is not only about showjumping. It is also other disciplines, which the audiences love, bringing an amazing sporting spectacle. CAVALIADA Future is about jumping again, but performed by the youngest competitors who dream about riding like Jarosław Skrzyczyński.

In the MINI category, the winner of CAVALIADA Future was Maja Nagła, representing KJ Stajnia Adamus Rogusko, and in the MIDI - Michalina Jach from Herkules Wapno.

Probably no one would write such a script of the TRAF Eventing Tour. Before the final in Krakow, Paweł Warszawski was in the lead. Him and his horse Fuerta were in great shape, but a knockdown can happen to anyone. Unfortunately, this one mistake meant that he was missing out the second round of the final.

Then there was a chance for other players. It was taken advantage of in a beautiful style by Daria Kobiernik, who was a bit unlucky in the previous stages. This time, the double points from the final gave her a victory in the whole Tour. Second place went to the Polish young riders champion Julia Gillmaier, and third to the Tokyo Olympian Joanna Pawlak.

In the four-in-hand driving competition, Piotr Mazurek was in a league of his own. The Tour also created a new star – the 21-year-old Kashubian Aleksander Fularczyk. He won one of the stages and ultimately finished the rivalry on the third position. We cannot forget about the world champion Bartłomiej Kwiatek, who ended this competition with a silver medal.

This year Immergas Dressage Tour was held at a higher level of Grand Prix. Undoubtedly the best in this edition was Sandra Sysojeva from the Centurion Club, who scored 75 points. The second place was taken by Ilona Janas, and the third by Anna-Maria Gawłowska.

The main sponsor of CAVALIADA Tour is PKO Bank Polski. The strategic partner is Totalizator Sportowy, and the competition is organized by Grupa MTP.

There was no shortage of emotions in this edition of CAVALIADA Tour. We are already inviting you to the next edition. After the break, when we focus on the events at open hippodromes, in November we ihope to see you at the COS Torwar hall, for this is where the first stage of CAVALIADA Tour 2022/2023 will take place.
